One of them is project of installation of hybrid filter in Sinter plant, which includes reconstruction of the electro-filter no 4 and its connection to sinter machine no 5 within primary de-dusting of the sinter machine no 5. It is state of art filter which will use combination of electrodes and bag filter installations.
Works on installation and building of the filter started mid August of this year and the completion is expected mid November. The contractor on the project is prominent European company FLSmidth from Denmark, the world known leader in filter technology.
Value of this project is over 6 million KM, and its aim is to decrease dust emissions on the sinter machine no 5 below 50 mg/Nm3, which is the legal limit.
It is also important to emphasize that the works have been performed by several local companies from Zenica, Sarajevo, Gračanica, Jajce, etc.
The second project for environmental improvement, which is in the final phase of its implementation, is building of coking coal charging car in the Coke Plant. The works on pre-assembling of the machine on the ground have been completed and cold tests successfully made. Delivery of the equipment for lifting the machine to the platform has started and the lifting is planned for end of September. Upon that there will be hot trials and putting into operation, which can be expected by end of October of this year. The value of the project is over 8 million KM.
Both projects are part of that the total investment of 95 million KM that ArcelorMittal Zenica has invested in environmental protection so far.
