Today, on June 7, 2024, in the premises of ArcelorMittal Zenica, the Certificate Awarding Ceremony was held for the participants of the first phase of the project Leadership in H&S, in cooperation with the dss+ international consulting firm, a global leader for the improvement and development of safety at work.

The ceremony was attended by ArcelorMittal Zenica CEO, Nikhil Mehta, as well as Faustino Martinez, Senior DSS+ Project Manager for Europe.

At the beginning, certificates were awarded to internal trainers within the Project, Elma Bajramović and Kenan Kundalić from ArcelorMittal Zenica. They were also awarded to all participants in the project, managers and foremen of the Steel Plant.

“I enjoyed working the past few days in Zenica. The steel plant I visited is extremely interesting and technologically diverse. I am fully convinced that this factory has a bright future, but that future can be even brighter if it becomes number one in health and safety in the entire ArcelorMittal system. We from dss+ are very happy for having the cooperation with a company like ArcelorMittal and that we are trying through this project to make the factory even more successful and safer,” said Faustino Martinez, Senior dss+ project manager.

Certified trainer in AMZ, Kenan Kundalić, reflected on the project with the words: “Over the past six months, it is clearly visible that the culture of safety at work in the steel department does exist, but that the spread of good behavior and practices should be continuously worked on. That is why this project does not stop here, but continues through the sustainability phase.”

Elma Bajramović, certified trainer in AMZ, thanked all the participants for the shared knowledge and experiences, as well as for the respect and appreciation especially of her as a colleague, which is a real confirmation of the acceptance of diversity as one of the most important ethical pillars of the company.

At the end of the ceremony, the CEO Nikhil Mehta again congratulated and told all the certified participants of the project that in the future a challenging task awaits us in the application of acquired knowledge and skills.
