On Thursday, April 10, 2025, the traditional event “Election of the Athlete of the Zenica-Doboj Canton 2024” was held at the Bosnian National Theater in Zenica. The event was organized by the NIPD Naša riječ Zenica.
The event was dedicated to young athletes and their outstanding sports results, but it also recognized long-time sports workers and friends of sports who contributed to the development of sports in this canton with their work.
The general sponsor was the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. ArcelorMittal Zenica, a long-time friend of sports, was the Golden Sponsor of the event.
The call for nominations received more than 200 applications, which testifies to the rich sports life and numerous talents in Canton. The expert jury had a demanding task to choose the best among the applicants, but all decisions were made unanimously, in cooperation with the Organizing Committee, and many exceptional athletes and sports workers were awarded in various categories. The director of the HR Department in ArcelorMittal Zenica, Dijana Božić-Srdanović, presented the awards in the Best Coaches category.
ArcelorMittal Zenica is once again one of the winners of the “Friend of Sports” Plaque. On behalf of the Company, the Plaque was received by Dr. Alena Kahrimanović, the Communications and CR Manager.
